Sewage pump station emergency call out

In our experience a high proportion of emergency calls to failed pump stations are attributable to a lack of system maintenance.

The cause of emergencies varies from submersible pump blockage, control switch failures, pipe-work/valve problems, switchgear and electrical supply faults through to total pump failure. The incidence of emergency calls is reduced dramatically on pump stations that are regularly maintained.

The varied nature of pump station failures demand a broad expertise in both mechanical, electrical and control system disciplines. Well trained engineers should be able to resolve most emergency pump system failures within a few hours.

Most pump stations comprise two pumps with a control system to alternate the lead pump after each operation with the second pump acting as a standby. It is unusual on an emergency call out to find a situation where it is not possible to get the system operational even if this has to be on a temporary basis.

For example during a recent emergency attendance to a pump station that had not been maintained, we unusually found that both pumps had failed. We were able to create one operational pump from two broken submersible pumps saving a client thousands of pounds in temporary over-pumping costs.

The key to fast, cost effective emergency attention is to have a regular

pump maintenance contractor. He will be conversant with your particular pump system and be able to provide fast emergency attention when needed.

We operate an emergency service for all new and existing clients however priority is given to customers who entrust the year round maintenance to us. Of course these customers benefit from a lower frequency of emergency calls as would be expected for properly maintained pump equipment.

Our area of operation is Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and Berkshire. If you need help in an emergency Contact us.
